Hart`s Firehouse BBQ in Lampasas

This is a great laid back barbecue place. I got a loaded brisket baked potato, and everyone else got a sausage and meat plate with two sides (potato salad and pinto beans). The brisket was great!

We're not locals, but whenever we're passing through we always stop to get a good lunch. Our family of 2 adults and 3 kids were full after we shared two plates. We were in town for a birthday party at Putters and Gutters.

Oh my goodness...the ribs were AMAZING!! I'm generally not a huge fan of barbecue but we tried the sample platter, brisket, ribs, sausage and pulled pork, ALL delicious. The jalapeno Puerto salad was a pleasant surprise...yummy with a slight kick!! I'll be back!

Oh wow. Some of the worst (if not the worst) BBQ we've ever had. We live in the area and drive by here all the time so decided to try. Food was dry and bland. Portions were small. Corn was soggy and meat dry. Won't even consider giving this place a second try.

I passed this place many times and said today is the day. I am going to stop and see what they have. There was only one other person there that should have been a flag for me but I was determined to try the food. The brisket tasted like it came out of their oven not a smoker. The staff did not look like they enjoy what they do. Place looks great on the outside. Hey if you own this place you have a great location. Take your time and hire someone that can make some great BBQ and hire some people that enjoy what they do. Once I see cars in the parking lot I will know it is time to try you again. Best of Luck !

Got the sample pack. We enjoyed the ribs and sausage; however, the brisket had no favor and pulled pork was very dry. The sides were good, but nothing stood out. Overall was a good meal.

Good bbq...no frills inside. We has our dogs so sat outside which was good.

The pork ribs, chicken and turkey are good. Brisket is not as tender as we like. Outdoor patio is nice.

I’ve never thrown BBQ away. This was my first! Nasty. Not to mention the rude staff. Good news travels fast, bad news travels faster! Get it together folks.

Brisket was flavorless and not tender, turkey was just a warmed up turkey roll with non smoker flavor, and the pulled pork had the most flavor, but really just salty.Staff was very nice and helpful.

The pepper jack sausage was good and the macaroni salad but they had all you can eat ribs but ran out right after we purchased them. They did supplement with a free dessert but they should not market something they cannot honor. Older lady behind the counter was quite abrasive. Not the best BBQ around, go elsewhere.

I ordered brisket and turkey plate. The turkey was lunch meat that was put on the smoker then sliced, not real turkey breast. The brisket was not too good.My friend had brisket and sausage plate. He said the sausage tasted like ekrich farms, nothing original. Same as I said about the brisket.Would not recommend it to anyone.

My father and I came through the last Sunday of December 2018. The food was outstanding. We had pork ribs, brisket, chili, jalepeno potato salad. No heavy fat and the brisket just fell apart. It was as moist and delicious as I’ve ever had it in the whole State. Very happy we stopped and hope to pass through again someday!

This restaurant impressed me so very much years ago that we drove 80 miles to try it again. I recommend dropping in if you happen to be driving by! But I dont know that we will go out of our way to go again as the atmosphere just wasn't the same and the employees just not as welcoming or friendly as remembered. The food is still very good! The priced slightly on the high side.

Inside and outside seating. Okay bbq taste. Very fatty. Okay desserts but not from scratch. Reasonably priced.

Friend called me while I was returning from vacation, told him I was near Lampasas, he recommended this spot. Glad he did. I was first in the door as it opened. Friendly folks serving. Brisket, pepper jack sausage, beans and mac/cheese. Brisket was pull apart tender. Sausage had pieces of pepper jack cheese inside it. But meats were very good. Lots of seating available including outside on picnic tables. Definitely recommend a visit to this bbq spot in Lampasas

Passing through, decide to stop and try out this place... we enjoyed it... ribs and brisket are good... outside place is awesome, if you have a pet like we had

Best bbq in town! Had the brisket on a bun. It was huge! A meal in itself.

Everything we good the sausage with the Jack cheese in it was delicious. Brisket was good just enough fat in it not too much very moist. Mac and cheese and potato salad where taste and sauce was not bad. Unfortunately I forgot to take any pics everything looked delicious, I would definitely go back when I'm in the area...

Extremely over priced!! Plus...the pinto beans were barely warm. I asked for lean cut brisket and got left over fat brisket!!! Its sad when the potatoe salad is the ONLY thing good!!! AND... The restroom is OUTSIDE!!!!!

Great selection of delicious BBQ and sides.Very reasonable prices. The brisket and pulled pork were both excellent.

Good Texas BBQ. Not the best in Texas but still pretty good. The brisket was alright, the smoked turkey and sausage were really good. The sides were good, mashed potatoes and gravy and the mac and cheese. Overall good BBQ.

Been visiting this place the past couple years, so this is not a one time hit it and quit it review. I've been here enough to provide an honest rating of the place. The BBQ is prepared very well, traditional Texas smoke style, good cuts of meat, delicious sausage and they have home made hambuger patties and chicken fried steak with cream gravy. Which are all very good. The sides are okay but the main courses are what matter first and foremost. My favorites and recommended are jalapeno mac n cheese and jalapeno potato salad. Their BBQ sauce is also homemade and taste great! 👍 👍 Oh I forgot to mention if you do plan to venture for the chicken fried steak, ask for the gravy on the side, so you can anjoy the good crunchy batter.

Came through town to visit friends heard great things about this place from them and decided to give it a try on the way out. Got the ribs and they were amazing some of the best ribs I’ve had at a BBQ joint in a while the meat was tender and just fell off the bone. Don’t really understand some of the negative reviews on here as the atmosphere was great and the food was even better. I would definitely come back again and would recommend this place to anyone passing through looking for some quality BBQ.

I haven't tried the BBQ (I lived in Lockhart for years, so I'll only eat BBQ there), but I order baked potatoes from here regularly since they deliver, and they are AMAZING!!!! Reasonably priced, and they get them to you quickly! I've also had their burgers and fries, and they are always really good as well. Definitely recommend!

Brisket and beef ribs were the star. The pepper jack sausage as well as the BBQ sauce were very good. Sides we're a little lacking but I came here for meat and was not disappointed. Restrooms are in the back behind the restaurant.

Excellent BBQ. Love stopping at Hart’s Firehouse BBQ every time I drive through Lampasas. Great food, service and atmosphere.

This was a great stop for some great priced BBQ. The staff was awesome and made suggestions. Portion size was great for the price. The huge BBQ potato was only $8. It can easily be shared between two people.

Man this was some of the worst bbq I have ever had. Bark was hard as a rock, sides sucks, service sucked. Literally go anywhere else.

I got the chopped bbq turkey sandwich! Amazing smokey flavor served on a large bun. It comes with pickles and onions, and you put on your own sauce! The backed potatoes were absolutely huge too!

Love the food. All the BBQ is delicious as are the jalapeno peppers. They're stuffed with shredded BBQ! Mmmmm. They also have the most complete selection of root beers I've ever seen, and I do love root beer. My only complaint is that they are a bit pricier than most BBQ places, however, they do have some unique menu items.

Wish I could give 6 stars! I had them catered for 40 people. Everything was great and they also set it all up for us and even gave us a couple of 5gal buckets of ice. Will definitely be using them at a later date. Thanks again!

Classic Texas bbq selections. Amazing root beer floats. Cobblers for desert. Hard to go wrong.

The food was great. I had a pulled pork sandwich with a side of macaroni and cheese and a root beer. Everything tasted spot on. Generous helpings and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Just opened under new owners during a hardship time for our country. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great job everyone!! Cheers to your success!!!

This place is a hidden gem! These guys know what they’re doing. The drive thru service was fast, only took 4 minutes to get my food. The brisket was great with a peppery BBQ sauce. And the pulled pork burrito and the Cajun turkey were phenomenal! I liked that the slaw was clean and not full of mayo. And the cobbler... peach cobbler is my favorite dessert of all time so I am a connoisseur. That might have been the best I’ve had (that wasn’t made by my family). Definitely in the hall of fame!

Awesome little place we stopped on our way passing through and they had a nice area to eat outside since we had our dog with us. They food was great and the service was fast and friendly. We will definitely be back next time we pass through to visit my sister in Boerne.
